Smart duplicate management
There may be cases when an article refers to several securities and thus the same article is retrieved several times. The news section ensures that no duplicate articles are displayed whilst keeping a reference to the same article for all the securities mentioned.
Detailed Analysis of News Menus and Functions
News Menu
At the top of the page is the main menu which includes the following commands
Filter Tickers
Filter the headlines by ticker. You can have more than one symbol, separated by a comma or space. Use the full symbol as supported by the data provider. The headlines section will show only the filtered headlines
Search Text
Search for text in the headlines and inside the articles. The headlines section will show only the headlines for those articles that contain the text
Orientation
Switch the orientation mode between Horizontal (headlines section on top, article reade on bottom), Vertical (headlines section to the left, article reader to the right or show only the headlines
Menu
Allows you to add or delete symbols to the news feed as well as importing all the symbols in the Live Monitor
Expand Reader
Expands the article reader to cover the full size of the view

Display the previous article in the reader
Next Article
Display the next article in the reader
Status Bar: Manage Updates
At the bottom of the page, the status bar includes the following commands
Activate Autorefresh Button
Activates or deactivates the autorefresh function for fetching new articles for the selected securities. When this button is on, a static API call is made for every security to get the news. Fine tune in Settings how many articles to request for each security
Autorefresh Timer
The timer for autorefresh. When active (green) the timer displays the time remaining to the next refresh. Click on the timer to trigger an immediate refresh
The status bar also displays the total number of securities for which news are requested and the total number of articles retrieved
Status Bar: Info Label and Filter
The status bar displays information on how many symbols are in the news feed and how many news articles are in memory
Clicking on the info label shows a contextual menu You can quickly filter all the news headlines by selecting one symbol You can clear all the filters by selecting Clear Filters at the top of the menu
